Between the Val d'Orcia and the Val di Chiana

Between the Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana , on the hill from which it takes its name, near the medieval village of Celle sul Rigo , stands Il Poggio . From the Casale, the company's central structure, you can enjoy an unparalleled view that sweeps from the Rigo Valley, up to the profiles of the Rocca di Radicofani , Amiata and Monte Cetona , to the Elvella Valley , bordered in perspective by the village of San Casciano dei Bagni.

Il Poggio, born from the union of two family businesses previously run according to traditional methods, began its agritourism activity in 1987 , with the first renovations of the rural buildings in the company center. Over the years, Il Poggio has grown, but has maintained the identity of its offerings: the familiar welcome, typical of Tuscan hospitality, in the apartments of the Borgo and the suites of the Casale , the traditional and tasty cuisine of the Restaurant , the Equestrian Center with its customizable horseback riding vacation options, and the Farm with its organic products.

In the restaurant , located on the ground floor of the farmhouse, you can taste, in a naturally rustic atmosphere but with simple and attentive service, the cuisine of the Terre di Siena, interpreted by us and prepared mainly with the products of our organic farm.

You will find inviting dishes based on Cinta Senese and organic chicken from our farm and Chianina and Maremmana meats of the highest quality, together with inviting Tuscan products such as "pici" or other handmade pasta, an excellent DOP extra virgin olive oil, wines such as our Rosso del Poggio IGT, Toscano bio , Poggio Corno Rosso Orcia Doc bio , as well as bottles selected from the best Tuscan and Italian wine cellars.

Our restaurant offers an à la carte menu and delicious tastings of our farm's products.

Our philosophy is to recover and rediscover the important culinary heritage of the Siena area, using only the highest-quality ingredients in our dishes, many of which are sourced locally. Our healthy and inviting cuisine will help you rediscover the authentic flavors of yesteryear.

Our tastings of cured meats, cheeses, and typical local products can also be accompanied by a tour of the farm and the workshops where all the products you can easily purchase on our e-commerce site are processed and packaged to offer you all the flavors of the Val d'Orcia we experience every day.

During the one-hour guided walking tour, you'll be able to follow the entire production process. During our guided tour with tasting “From the Belt to the Meat” We'll take you to our Cinta Senese farms to show you where our animals are born.
