This land was historically inhabited by both the Etruscans and the Romans, and we are just 5 km from the Etruscan Sanctuary archaeological site. Val d’Orcia was crossed by armies and pilgrims throughout the Middle Ages, then became home to popes and nobility, before finally becoming the uncontaminated nature preserve it is today, enjoyed by all who respect the environment and embrace the precious offerings of the land.
It is here, in Val d’Orcia, at San Casciano deiBagni, that we have made a home for the past several generations.It is here that we have chosen to live, in direct contact with nature. Itkeeps us very busy, but it also brings us serenity and a wealth of truly unique experiences. We have been welcoming guests for some time now, and today our home has become a farmhouse in Val d’Orcia where we share the wonders of the area and our passion for the land with our guests.
We are an organic farm and our land allows us to cultivate vineyards, ancient grains, and vegetables, as well as raise the prized Cinta Senese, the Tuscan DOP pig. Our love for horses inspired us to open the Il Poggio equestrian center, affiliated with FISE (the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation). We further embrace what the land has given us in our restaurant, where we use Km0 ingredients.
